Maximizing the fun per mile—that’s often really the only thing that counts. Bikepacking with @bikeonscott and @freehubmag from Mt. Rose to South Lake Tahoe, the pace was slow and the fish were non-existent, but the good times were plentiful.
SCOTT triathlete Flora Duffy’s season was as perfect as they come. She became only the second woman to have won six races in a season. She also recorded the widest winning margin in series history by 1min 51sec to second place in Yokohama in May, and followed that with the widest winning margin in a sprint race in Hamburg by 31 sec. Now she has also added a second World Triathlon Series title to her impressive palmares, which also includes three X-terra World Titles. #NOSHORTCUTS
For the last year and a half, we have been following Nino Schurter on his #huntforglory. One week ago, he achieved his ultimate goal, and won the most prestigious MTB race in the world. What an incredible accomplishment from an incredible athlete. As if this weren’t enough, we are also incredibly proud of Nino’s teammate, Jenny Rissveds, who also beat the world’s best to claim the win in the Women’s race.
Grab your bikes and gear for a Lake Hefner invasion tonight starting at 6. The roadies are going to do some laps around the lake, the Mountain Bikers are going to do some laps around Bluff Creek. The most hardcore of riders will do both! The first wave arrives at 6 and if there is anyone left standing around 8 they will meet up at Louie’s Lakeside. Bring plenty of water!
Tonight, we will have no set group ride, instead we will invade both the bike path and Bluff Creek mountain bike trails. Bring both bikes and see if you can pull off a road and off-road ride. As always, be safe and have fun.
“Best day ever” – that’s how Team SCOTT-Odlo will remember the World Championships in Nove Mesto after both Nino Schurter and Jenny Rissveds claimed titles in their respective races. This weekend will forever be tough to beat! These World Championships will not only be memorable for SCOTT Odlo MTB Racing, but they will also be remembered by the world’s MTB community. The amazing atomsphere with over 20’000 enthusiastic spectators will go down as one of the best in the sports 26 year history. To see Jenny Rissveds winning her first ever rainbow jersey and to have Nino Schurter steping on top of the podium with his big rivals Jaroslav Kulhavy and Julien Absalon will make this day one to remember. Join us tonight at 6pm for the Melonbike Wednesday Night Ride. We meet on the bike path in front of Louie’s Lakeside at Lake Hefner. The ride will run in 2 groups. Group 1 is a light paced no drop ride that stays on the lake path. We will do as many laps as time allows. Group 2 is a drop group that could end up anywhere in the city and averages a much higher pace. No matter which group you choose, we all meet back at Louie’s between 7:30 and 8pm for some post-ride refreshments.
Scott Bicycles and Melonbike will be at Bluff Creek MTB Trails on Sunday June 14th from 2pm to 6pm. We will have a selection of full suspension mountain bikes and a few road bikes available for demo at the trails. Like Saturday, this event is free and there is no cost for a bike demo. Remember to bring your helmet and if you would like to use your own shoes/pedals, bring those too. See you there!
